Windmill, West Wratting, Cambridgeshire

This smock mill was built in 1726 of brick with tarred weatherboarding over timber framing. It has not been used since 1924 and was restored in 1979 to its present, somewhat idealistic, condition. Most mills are neither this well preserved nor presented in such a picturesque setting. Find out more about windmills and watermills in our Teachers' Kit - Mills.
