Weir and Salmon Ladder, Linton on Ouse, North Yorkshire

This weir and salmon ladder were built following an Act of Parliament of 1767. It was 'An Act for Making Navigable the River Ouse'. The weir would have caused a dam and changed the flow of the river. The salmon ladder made it possible for fish to still swim upstream as well as down stream.
