Tregantle Fort, Antony, Cornwall

The entrance gatehouse to Tregantle Fort outside Antony in Cornwall. The fort formed the outer line of defence for Plymouth and was designed to hold 35 guns. It was completed in 1865 following the news that the French Navy was building iron-clad warships.
