Town Hall, Russell Street, Middlesbrough

The Town Hall and municipal buildings date from 1883/89 and were designed by G.D. Hoskins of Darlington. It cost £130,000 to build in a French Gothic style. The town grew from a population of 7,500 in 1851 to 56,000 in 1881 and needed new buildings to cope with the extra administration.
