The Maltings, Wilderspool Causeway, Warrington, Cheshire

When this warehouse was built in the early 19th century the river flowed alongside it, roughly where the fence is now. Water was an important method of transporting goods at a time when roads were poorly made and unreliable. The river has now been filled and diverted.
