The Iron Bridge, Ironbridge, Telford and Wrekin

This was the worlds first single span cast iron bridge. It was built by Abraham Darby in 1779 using iron cast by the Coalbrookedale Company to designs by Thomas Pritchard. This site is now in the care of English Heritage (2010).
