Teignmouth, Devon

In common with many southern seaside towns, Teignmouth grew rapidly as a resort in the early 19th century. Its Victorian pier, designed by J W Wilson and built on cast iron piles was constructed between 1865-1867 and stretched 700 feet across the foreshore. It still stands today.
