Summerlands Hospital, Yeovil, Somerset

This hospital was originally the Yeovil Union Workhouse. It was built in 1837 to designs by Sampson Kempthorne. The building followed his 'hexagonal' model. This design had a central 'hub' that gave views in each direction over the segregated inmates' yards.
