Strodes Almshouses, Shepton Mallet, Somerset

These almshouses were built in 1699 for Edward Strode. They have the inscription "Built by Edward Strode of Downside Esquire, for the honour of God and to doe good. Anno Domini, 1699". They were restored in c1862. There is more information about Strode and his charity in the nearby Parish Church.
