St Thomas A Becket's Chapel, Luffield Abbey, Buckinghamshire

A boy sits in a cart belonging to J A Clark; a baker. The baker's cart was presumably delivering bread to the cottage. This thatched cottage was formerly a chapel, at Chapel Green. It was on the site of what is now Silverstone Racing Circuit. Foundations for Luffied chapel still exist in the hedgerows near to "chapel" corner of the circuit. Luffield Abbey is one of the few examples in the country where there is an ancient parish with no church at its centre
