St John's Hospital (Cricklade College), Andover, Hampshire

This was originally Andover Union Workhouse. It was built in 1836 and extended in the mid 19th century. It was notorious for the mistreatment of the inmates. They were, according to sources, employed in bone crushing and were so hungry they gnawed grizzle and marrow from the bones on occasion. It is now a school.
