Remains of Vaccary Walls, Wycoller, Lancashire

These large, irregular slabs of stone are probably medieval. They were build as field enclosures associated with the vaccary system of cattle farming. Vaccaries were small scale commercial cattle farms in parts of Lancashire in the 14th Century.
