Remains of North Tower, Eastgate, Lincoln, Lincolnshire

These ruins are the remains of the north tower of the Roman east gate. It was built in the 1st century AD, altered in the 2nd century and extended in the 3rd century. The building was an important part of the defences of the Roman legionary fortress.
