Rawson Syke, Farndale East, North Yorkshire

This photograph is titled 'A Homestead'. It appears to be a house with a series of barns and outbuildings built in a row. A group of men, one playing a violin, is sitting outside. A girl holding a baby is standing in a doorway. Robert and Hannah Petch lived there with their family in the mid-1800s. The house was altered substantially around 1903-1910. The clothes worn by the people would suggest it is late Victorian or early Edwardian. Photographer: T Page
