Prehistoric settlement on Dartmoor, Devon

Dartmoor contains the remains of a large number of settlements and agricultural enclosures dating from the Bronze Age. This example is on Stall Moor, overlooking the River Yealm. The circular features both within and outside the enclosure are the remains of round huts. As the climate deteriorated in the 1st millennium BC, settlement withdrew from marginal areas such as Dartmoor.
