No 3 Quay Walls, Berwick upon Tweed, Northumberland
This building was built in the early 18th century. It is built into the earlier Elizabethan town walls. It was originally used as a granary. The town would have had and needed many granaries. This one is probably the earliest surviving granary in the town. The Elizabethan fortifications are unique in Britain. They were begun in c1555 and built to the latest Italian designs.
