Museum of Rural Life, Northleach, Gloucestershire

This building was built as a house of correction in 1792. Houses of correction generally acted as both a jail and a workhouse. It was built on the orders of Sir George Onesiphorus Paul, former High Sheriff of Gloucestershire. He was also responsible for the building of a new county gaol in Gloucester and four other houses of correction.
