Lifeboat House, North Side, Staithes, Loftus, Cleveland

This lifeboat house was built for the RNLI in 1875. The staff of volunteers will leave their regular jobs as soon as they receive the distress signal - often a flare. The nature of the job means that they are frequently asked to set out in the worst of weather.
