Kirby Hall, Gretton, Northamptonshire

View looking across inner courtyard towards the loggia on the North side. Work on Kirby Hall was begun in 1570 by Sir Humphrey Stafford and completed by Sir Christopher Hatton, Lord Chancellor to Elizabeth I. It was largely remodelled in the 17th century. The main entrance on the north front, seen here, was remodelled in 1638-40. This property is owned by the Earl of Winchilsea and managed by English Heritage (2010).
