Kepier Grammar School, Houghton-le-Spring, Tyne and Wear

A Grammar School was built here in the 18th century, it incorporated an earlier 16th century school building. This building has an inscription commemorating the founding of the school in 1574, but also dated 1724. The original school was founded by Bernard Gilpin, rector of Houghton and John Heath of Kepyer.
