Harefield Old Workhouse, Northwood, Greater London

Harefield parish workhouse on Breakspear Road North appears to date from the early 18th century. It has a U-shaped layout. In 1836. Uxbridge Poor Law Union was formed. It served 10 parishes including Harefield, Northwood and Ruislip. A new union workhouse was built in Hillingdon.
