Hampsfell Hospice, Grange Over Sands, Cumbria

A view from the north-east of Hampsfell Hospice, with a woman leaning on the railings on the roof. It was built in 1846 by the vicar of Cartmel to provide shelter for travellers. The Hospice gives an outstanding view over the Old Man of Coniston, Helvelyn, the Langdales and Morecambe Bay. It now (2011) has an unusual viewfinder on top.
