Gateway to the Shire Hall courtyard, Chester Castle, Chester, Cheshire

The Shire Hall was built on the site of the inner bailey of Chester Castle. Built between 1785 and 1822 by Thomas Harrison, it was an important Greek Revival monument. The entrance to the courtyard is seen here, flanked by lodges.
