Ely Porta, Ely, Cambridgeshire

The Ely Porta was begun in 1397. It was completed on behalf of Prior Poucher (1401-18). The building originally formed a group with several buildings to create a monastery. It then became part of a school. Since 1537 the school has been under the possession of the Crown. It is now named King's School.
