Ely Cathedral, Ely, Cambridgeshire

This gargoyle peers out from under the corbel table Ely Cathedral. The building was constructed between 1083 and 1350, with much of the masonry being replaced in 1539. The skill, craftsmanship and individuality of the medieval stone masons lives on in these carvings.
