Elizabeth Darwin, Down House, Downe, Greater London

This is a photograph of Elizabeth Darwin (1847-1926) from Down House. She was Charles Darwin’s fourth daughter. She was born at Down House in 1847. When she grew up Elizabeth bought Tromer Lodge, a house in Downe near her sister Henrietta’s house. Elizabeth never married and had no children.
