Congregational Church, Grassington, North Yorkshire
This nonconformist Congregational Church was built in 1811. A school was added in 1857. Nonconformity grew rapidly in Grassington after John Wesley's visits in 1780-82. The chapel was built by the Independents and the first service was held on Christmas Day 1811. This was a time when the population was expanding rapidly due to the influx of lead miners to the Yarnbury mines.
