Chairmaking Workshop, Desborough Street, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire

This building is one of the best surviving examples of a chair making workshop characteristic of many which used to be in the town. The premises was occupied by George Holt & Son when it was listed. Chairmaking was the town's main traditional industry. The Windsor chair was the most famous product of the trade. The furniture trade in High Wycombe today has its roots in the activities of the 19th century chairmakers.
