Where Light Falls audio description for sight impaired visitors: site 1
You are standing in front of site 1, Barnabas House on Priory Row. The building is dark, apart from the image of the poet Jane Commane which is projected on to the building. We can see just her head and shoulders, and the whole image looks like an old black and white film, with thin white lines occasionally flickering across the screen.
She smiles as she reads the poem, and as she speaks, bright sparks swirl around her.
She reads the first few verses of the poem from the title “In A New Light” to the line “Our intrinsic Coventryness”
After that line is spoken the image fades and it is the end of the projection at site 1.
Now make your way to site 2 which is on the west side of the new Coventry Cathedral beside the Chapel of Unification, to the left as you approach the main entrance down St Michael’s Avenue
