Pyramid and surrounding piers, designed in 1728 by Nicholas Hawksmoor. The interior contains a large bust of Lord William Howard. The Pyramid acts as an eye catcher from the main house at Castle Howard, designed by Vanbrugh in the early 18th century and situated in 1,000 acres of landscaped grounds which include numerous other 18th century monuments.

Opening Arrangements

The Pyramid lies outside the Castle Howard paid visitor area and can be viewed free of charge at any reasonable time from the public footpath running east from the Avenue. Closer access, including to the interior, is included in specialist tours of the landscape monuments or can be arranged by prior appointment.
