North Park Furnace: iron works and gun foundry, Vann Road, Fernhurst, West Sussex GU27 3NJ
Industrial archaeology. Early 16th and 17th century Wealden Blast Furnace and associated water controls. Best preserved and complete furnace in the Weald and includes wheel pits, tail race and casting pit and evidence of other buildings. Likely three phases of construction, the last in the 18th century when the dam was enhanced and another water wheel added, tail race moved and cannon casting pit installed.
