Opening Arrangements

The castle will be open to the public on at least 75 days, including all bank holidays except for the additional Coronation Day bank holiday. Further opportunities to visit the castle and see the interior will be published on our website, including exhibitions and Heritage Open Days. The 75 days are made up of the following: 23 days with free access; visitors are asked to notify their intention to visit to give us an idea of numbers, but it is not essential. 52 days with paid guided tours taking in additional areas of the castle.
