Archival History

Kenneth [Ken] William Edwin Gravett MSc FIEE FSA (1930-1999) was a photographer, an electrical engineer and an antiquary. He was in his lifetime: President of the Kent Archaeological Society, Chairman of the Surrey Local History Council, Head of Higher and Further Education of the Inner London Education Authority, Honorary Vice-President of the Surrey Archaeological Society, President of the Kent Archaeological Society and chairman of its Historic Buildings Committee, and a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries for more than 30 years.

The collection was given to the NMR in three deposits: in 1994 by Gravett himself, and in 2006 and 2008 by his executor.
