Prices for the Enhanced Advisory Services
For each service we will provide a cost estimate based on our initial assessment of your case.
Estimating the price
As a public body we aim to cover the costs of these services. They are neither subsidised with taxpayers' money, nor make a profit.
Our pricing structure charges only for the staff time spent on a particular piece of work plus overheads.
Cost estimates will take into account the particular staff member(s) best placed to work on your case, given the area of expertise and seniority required, geographical location and availability. Please note that when considering a case we will decide on the most appropriate staff to carry out the work.
The only way to find out the estimated price of your case is to contact us. However, the example price ranges below give you an impression of the sort of costs that might be involved for each of the Enhanced Advisory Services.
- Fast-Track Listing and Listing Enhancement cases are usually estimated between £2,000 and £6,000. The average cost of a case is currently around £3,000.
- Extended Pre-Application Advice: entirely dependent on the length of our involvement with a case. As an example 15 hours of paid-for advice might cost between £1,000 and £1,400 depending on seniority of staff involved.
- Screening for Potential Listing: the nature of this service means it is tailored to the area in question; cases are on average £6,000. Please contact us for a bespoke price estimate.
Prices depend on case complexity, and some cases may sit outside these example ranges. All price estimates are provided exclusive of VAT. For further information contact your local Historic England office.
We may exempt some cases from charges where sites are included on a published Heritage at Risk Register (either Historic England or local authority registers) and, in our judgement, proposals address the conservation needs of the asset.
