OASIS Rollout Milestone Achieved

In June 2021 we reached an important step in the rollout of the heritage investigation reporting tool OASIS V in England, with the delivery of the last in a series of 28 online training workshops.

The workshops, developed and delivered by MSDS Marine and Ashtree Heritage on behalf of Historic England, were joined by over 630 attendees from across the heritage section, with 42% completing post-workshops tasks and receiving CPD certification.  Originally designed to be held in person, an early shift to online delivery in response to the COVID-19 pandemic enabled five times the reach than originally anticipated.

Feedback on the workshops has been very positive – with participants particularly welcoming the interactive delivery style and flexible scheduling to allow field staff and volunteers to attend outside of working hours.  The workshops have been recorded and these and other training resources will be available for viewing online at the OASIS help pages.
