Historic Environment Overview
Throughout 2021 the historic environment sector has shown resilience and ingenuity in responding to the ongoing challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, most notably in the adoption of digital participation.
Despite the successful rollout of the vaccination programme and the continuation of emergency funding, the pandemic continued to have a significant impact on the sector.
There have also been major policy changes which may transform the way the historic environment is managed, including replacements for EU funding and the development of the levelling up agenda.
